let me introduce myself!

Let Me Introduce Myself!

Hello! My name is Caroline, I’m 25 years old, and I currently live in Atlanta, GA.

If you’re reading this, it means I finally started my own blog! This has been on my heart for a while. I’ve actually started a few blogs, but never finished them or posted them. The Lord has been putting it on my heart for a while now to begin documenting my life through writing. I’ve always been someone who has loved any form of writing. My first major in college was actually songwriting (shoutout to Belmont!) before I changed it to Christian Leadership when I felt the Lord call me to work in full-time ministry for His kingdom.

So, here I am, finally being obedient. There’s a phrase that goes a little something like this, “Delayed obedience is still disobedience.” Oof. It hits hard every. single. time. Thankfully, I serve a God whose mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23). It’s never too late to do what you feel God is calling you to.

That’s the thing, I would always wait for the “right time” or the “perfect time” to start something. Something I’m slowly starting to learn is there is no perfect time. None of us have it all figured out (shocking, I know, because our Instagram feeds are picture-perfect). But that’s the truth. We are all learning each and every day how to be who God has made us to be.

You’ve already learned a little bit about my perfectionist tendencies. Here’s more of my story:)

I grew up always knowing Jesus. He has been a constant in my life. I can’t remember a Sunday where I wasn’t in church. I’m not a Pastor’s Kid, but I do have two amazing parents who always encourage me to lean on the Lord. The first verse I remember memorizing was Proverbs 3:5-6. The perfect verse for a perfectionist to learn.

When I was eight years old, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. My mom was putting me to bed, and I asked her how I can know Jesus. She prayed the prayer with me, and I knew He was the Savior and my Savior. The gospels talk a lot about child-like faith. Even though I was young, I knew He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). There’s more to share when I was this age, but I’ll get to that in another blog post.

It wasn’t until high school that I realized Jesus wasn’t only my Savior, but also my Friend. He walks with me and leads me and guides me, but he also delights in me and adores me and likes me. In middle and high school, and even into college, I experienced waves of anxiety and depression. There would be really good days, and then there would be really bad days. I started counseling at 12 years old, and have been going on and off since then. I’m still learning to release my fears, worries, and anxieties to Him. 1st Peter 5:7 says, “Give all your worries to God, because He cares for you” (NLT).

I went to Belmont University in Nashville, TN for college (go bruins). Since I was fourteen, I wanted to be a songwriter in the music industry. The songwriting program was my dream, and I got accepted into the program my senior year of high school.

However, through many different scenarios, the Lord called me to full-time ministry. I obeyed the Lord, even though it wasn’t necessarily something I wanted to do (that’s one way you know something is from God, lol), and changed my major to Christian Leadership. Since then, I have had several internships at different churches and graduated from a full-time residency program where I was trained to be equipped to lead in ministry for a lifetime.

I now work in full-time ministry at a local church here in Atlanta. I absolutely love connecting people to Jesus and His bride, the Church. If you have any questions about Jesus or the Church, please message me using the “contact” page. I’d love to chat with you!

Here are a few fun, not so serious things you should know about me:

I love the color pink (it’s my personality trait at this point), disco balls,  my friends, my family, reading, and a good latte. I love eating yummy food (free of gluten, but not free of fun), hot girl walks, and listening to a good podcast. I love playing guitar and occasionally still writing songs.

Now that you know a little bit about me, let’s get back to the blog. I hope that through this blog, I can create a safe space for all types of people. The verse I based this blog off of is Romans 8:28, one of my life verses (I can’t pick just one). It says,

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (NIV).

I can’t wait to share more of what the Lord has put on my heart, for the good of those around me, and for His glory.

God is still writing my story, and I’m here to tell it. Thanks for sticking around<3.
